Bivariate Data

When data are collected as pairs of measurements made on the same subjects, we call them bivariate.

We will study the case where both variables are continuous.

It is often the case that these two variables do not have the smae status: one is a response (that sometimes we would like to predict) the other is an explanatory variable that can help predict the response.
