Sample Spaces with Equally Likely Outcomes 10/1/98

In this section we reviewed sample spaces in which all outcomes were equally likely to occur and did several worked examples. Worked examples included looking at the probability of various outcomes of rolling two six sided dice. For example, what is the probability that the two dice sum to seven? We also looked at similar probabilities for dice with n faces. Other examples involved computing the probability of getting a straight in a hand of Poker, and determining whether we are more likely to see an Ace of Spades or a Two of Clubs as the first card dealt after the first Ace in a shuffled pack.
