Patrick O. Perry

I am a fifth-year PhD candidate in Statistics at Stanford University. I have a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Signal Processing, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, both from Stanford.

While pursuing my Master's Degree, I worked with Gunnar Carlsson and Vin de Silva developing Plex, an algebraic topology software library with both C++ and MATLAB interfaces. For my undergraduate honors thesis, I worked with Gunnar Carlsson investigating an adaptation of simplicial sets to computational topology.

Currently, I am working with Art Owen on extending cross-validation to unsupervised learning. You can find a draft of one of our papers here. I am also interested in Monte Carlo and Markov Chain Monte Carlo computation. I am loosely involved with the interdisciplinary TMSCSCS group.
