Installation and Resources

Install R from The R Project for Statistical Computing Note: use R version 2.5.1, released on 2007-06-28. Follow the CRAN (Comprehensive R Archive Network) link on that page for downloads. At CRAN, choose the link for your operating system to install the precompiled binary distribution of the base system. The closest CRAN mirror is Berkeley. Maunals for using R, a useful R Wiki, and a list of frequently asked questions can also be downloaded/browsed from the R Project page. There are a wide variety of resources there, including translations of the R manual. The Wiki lists several R reference cards that can be quite helpful.

Additional Resources include:

Learning Materials for Labs

Lastly, if you attend the R labs and if you have R installed on your laptop, you might find it helpful to bring your laptop to the lab rather than using the lab computers.
