Strain analysis is a key tool used for studying rock deformation. This talk looks at a statistical formulation for the problem of strain estimation. This formulation is used to isolate identifable features of the deformation. We then look at a particular estimate for these parameters and the asymptotic distribution of this estimate. We look at the implications of these results and how these results can be applied in practice. \end{document}
