A two day conference will be held from Friday, June 17 to Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Stanford University featuring invited lectures on probability, mathematical and applied statistics, statistical genetics, and computational biology. It is held in honor of the 70th birthday of Professor David Siegmund, who has made seminal contributions and left far-ranging impacts on these fields. Born in 1941, David Oliver Siegmund is the John T. and Sigrid Banks Professor of Statistics at Stanford University. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has been a Wald lecturer, Rietz lecturer, and President of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
